January 2008 Predicted (A) and actual (B) topology representations of Alg 13

In James Prestegard's lab, Wang et. al. have determined the solution structure of Alg13, a yeast N-acetylglucosamine transferase. The predicted fold in the first half of the protein differed significantly from the experimentally determined fold. This topology is unique among glycosyltransferases with known structure.
